Euryapteryx was named by Haast (1874). It is not extant.

It was assigned to Dinornithidae by Lambrecht (1933), Carroll (1988); and to Emeidae by Worthy (1997), Bunce et al. (2009).

Synonyms
  • Cela was named by Reichenbach (1852).

    It was synonymized subjectively with Euryapteryx by Milkovsky (1995).
