Cipactlichthys scutatus
Taxonomy
Cipactlichthys scutatus was named by Brito and Alvarado-Ortega (2013). Its type specimen is IGM.6605, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tlayúa Quarry (IGM, general), which is in an Albian/Albian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Tlayúa Formation of Mexico. It is the type species of Cipactlichthys.
