Becksia was named by Schlüter (1868) [Sepkoski's age data: K Apti K Maes Sepkoski's reference number: 622]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Lychniscosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Becksinae by Finks et al. (2004).
