Taxonomy
Neosclerocalyptus gouldi was named by Zurita et al. (2008). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is San Andres de Giles, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial siliciclastic in the Buenos Aires Formation of Argentina.
