Taxonomy
Nielsenicrinus waiteteensis was named by Eagle (1993). Its type specimen is AK71631 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Waitete Bay, which is in a Chattian deep subtidal shelf limestone in the Torehina Formation of New Zealand.
