Taxonomy
Gymnocodium nodosum was named by Ogilvie Gordon (1927). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Plesdinaz, Val Gardena, which is in a Changhsingian carbonate limestone in the Bellerophon Formation of Italy.
