Taxonomy
Siphonalia sakakurai was named by Mizuno (1954). Its type specimen is GSJ 1699 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mitsubishi-Bibai Coal mine, which is in an Eocene marine horizon in the Horokabetsu Formation of Japan.
