Taxonomy
Parendotherium was named by Crusafont-Pairó and Adrover (1966). Its type is Parendotherium herreroi.
It was assigned to Plagiaulacoidea by Clemens and Kielan-Jaworowska (1979); to Plagiaulacidae by Hahn and Hahn (1992); to Paulchoffatiidae by McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Eobaataridae by Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
