Taxonomy
Maoritrigonia sparsicostata was named by Pérez and Reyes (1994). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SNGM 7165. Its type locality is Upper reaches of Quebrada San Juan, which is in a Norian/Rhaetian marine horizon in Chile.
