Paleothamnion acicularis

Taxonomy
Paleothamnion acicularis was named by Parker and Dawson (1965). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is LACM PB-1543 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACM 1925 Cabrillo Beach, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Monterey Formation of California. It is the type species of Paleothamnion.
