Pternoconius tournoueri
Taxonomy
Pternoconius tournoueri was named by Soria and Hoffstetter (1985). Its type specimen is MNHN COL 121, a mandible (Hemimandíbula parcialmente completa, carente de las par- tes sinfisaria, rama ascendente y ángulo man- dibular; fracturada a nivel del límite P4 y MI; con torsi), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gran Barranca - southern cliff of lake Colhué Huapí, which is in a Colhuehuapian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
