Taxonomy
Urolophus halleri was named by Cooper (1863). It is extant. Its type locality is San Pedro, which is in a Miocene marine sandstone in California.
It was recombined as Urobatis halleri by Cooper (1900), Jordan and Gilbert (1919), Jordan and Hanibal (1923).
