D. K. Elliott and R. R. Ilyes 1996As for species, this being a monospecific genus. [Large pteraspidid with slender dorsal shield and elongated rostrum. Dorsal spine long, slender, and sloping at a low angle. Orbital plates in medial contact with pineal plate; post-orbital process short. Pineal plate subrectangular. Bran- chial plates long and slender with ventral posterior process ex- tending onto comual plate. Branchial duct opening dorsally and well in advance ofposterolateral comer of dorsal shield; bound- ed anteriorly by branchial plate, medially by dorsal disc, laterally and posteriorly by broad, posteriorly extended comual plate. Dentine ridges flat crested, very finely crenulate, 15 per mm in midline; sharply crested and crenulate on rostral margin.]
