D. K. Elliott and R. R. Ilyes 1996As for species, this being a monotypic genus. [ Additional to Denison, 1953, 1970). Large pteraspidid with slender dorsal shield and elongated, ta- pering rostrum. Pineal plate concave laterally, convex posteri- orly, and straight anteriorly; contacted laterally by long narrow median process of orbital plate. Orbital plate with short anterior and posterior processes. Branchial plate long and narrow; bran- chial opening half-way down lateral margin of dorsal disc, dor- sally directed, bounded by branchial plate and dorsal disc. Cor- nual plate broad and triangular with posterolateral point; scale- like ornamentation on lateral margin. Ornamentation of flat- to round-crested ridges with very fine crenulations, 8-9 per mm in the midline, becoming sharp-crested, more coarsely crenulate, and 7 per mm on shield margins.]
