Taxonomy
Posidonia albertii was named by Volz (1837). It is not extant. Its type locality is Soultz-les-Bains (Grès argileux Mb.), which is in an Anisian lacustrine - small shale/sandstone in the Grès à Voltzia Formation of France.
It was recombined as Panopaea albertii by Alberti (1864); it was recombined as Homomya albertii by Gall (1971).
