Pakitherium shagalai
Taxonomy
Pakitherium shagalai was named by Malkani et al. (2013). Its type specimen is MSID-201 to MSID-227, a partial skeleton (cranial skeleton like tusk/canine like thick and long tooth and postcranial skeleton like centrum, a pair of proximal metapodial, a pair of distal ribs, cross s), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kamardin Karez Tehsil, which is in an Eocene fluvial mudstone/sandstone in the Shagala Formation of Pakistan. It is the type species of Pakitherium.
