Planocarcinus olssoni
Taxonomy
Dakoticancer olssoni was named by Rathbun (1937). Its type specimen is USNM 495104, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Junction of road to Curití, which is in an Albian marine shale in the Paja Formation of Colombia. It is the type species of Planocarcinus.
It was recombined as Necrocarcinus olssoni by Schweitzer et al. (2010); it was synonymized subjectively with Orithopsis tricarinata by Vega et al. (2010); it was recombined as Planocarcinus olssoni by Luque et al. (2012), Karasawa et al. (2014), Schweitzer et al. (2016), Luque et al. (2017), Schweitzer et al. (2018).
It was recombined as Necrocarcinus olssoni by Schweitzer et al. (2010); it was synonymized subjectively with Orithopsis tricarinata by Vega et al.
