Taxonomy
Prosopon heraldicum was named by Moericke (1897). Its type specimen is BSP AS III 306, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Glaessneropsis.
It was recombined as Glaessneropsis heraldica by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2009) and Schweitzer et al. (2012).
