Taxonomy

Deltatherium was named by Cope (1881). Its type is Deltatherium fundaminis.

It was assigned to Leptictidae by Cope (1881), Cope (1881); to Proviverridae by Scott (1892), Hay (1902); to Oxyclaenidae by Hay (1930); and to Eutheria by Lucas (1998).
