Taxonomy
Urosalpinx hannibali was named by Dickerson (1915). Its type specimen is CAS 334, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UW 1, Cowlitz Formation, which is in a Bartonian marine horizon in the Cowlitz Formation of Washington.
