| R. V. Kesling and R. B. Chilman 1978 | Small, semielliptical, equivalved; with straight tongue and groove hinge, slightly shorter than length of carapace. Ends equally rounded, hinge line straight, ventral border gently convex. Lateral surface ridged and pitted. Two vertical ridges or costae from the dorsal to ventral borders at one-fourth the length from each end, projecting very slightly dorsally but enough to give the dorsal border between them a distinct concavity. between the costae and ends, faint vertical ridges of ridgelets subparallel to the border. Central area between the costae reticulated by pits and smaller ridges. Pit located slightly anterior to center of valve, with slight sulcus etending dorsally; interior of valve showing a small node to mark the position of the exterior pit. |
