Taxonomy

Exallerix was named by McKenna and Holton (1967). Its type is Exallerix hsandagolensis.

It was assigned to Erinaceomorpha by Carroll (1988); and to Brachyericinae by McKenna and Holton (1967), Lopatin and Zazhigin (2003), Lopatin (2003).

Synonyms

Metexallerix was named by Qiu and Gu (1988).

It was synonymized subjectively with Exallerix by Lopatin and Zazhigin (2003).

It was assigned to Brachyericinae by Qiu and Gu (1988), Ziegler et al. (2007).
