Taxonomy
Raninella manningi was named by Bishop and Williams (2000). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Discovery Tepee Butte, Lindsey Ranch, which is in a Campanian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Pierre Shale Formation of South Dakota.
It was recombined as Heus manningi by Karasawa et al. (2014).
