Taxonomy
Venericardia (Pacificor) susanaensis was named by Verástegui (1953). Its type specimen is LSJU 8004, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM loc. 8122, Santa Susana Mountains, which is in a Lutetian offshore sandstone in the Llajas Formation of California.

It was recombined as Venericardia (Pacificor) calafia susanaensis by Moore (1992), Squires (1999).
