Taxonomy
Dictyopteris falcata was named by Morris (1863). It is not extant. Its type locality is Bansloi River at Amrapara, which is in a Jurassic fluvial horizon in the Rajmahal Formation of India.

It was recombined as Dictyozamites falcatus by Medlicott and Blanford (1879), Lakhanpal et al. (1976) and Chandra and Tewari (1991).
