Taxonomy
Bienvillia chaya was named by Waisfeld and Vaccari (2009). Its type specimen is CEGH-UNC 23862, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Saladillo Chico Creek QS 16, which is in a Floian marine shale in Argentina.
