Taxonomy
Hypermecaspis edselbrussai was named by Waisfeld and Vaccari (2009). Its type specimen is CEGH-UNC 23867, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Saladillo Chico Creek QS 15, which is in a Floian marine shale in Argentina.
