Pinites withami was named by Lindley and Hutton (1831). It is not extant. It is the type species of Dadoxylon, Medulloxylon.
It was recombined as Dadoxylon withami by Endlicher (1847); it was recombined as Medulloxylon withamii by Hartig (1848).
