Taxonomy
Andesaspis argentinensis was named by Kobayashi (1935). Its type specimen is USNM PAL 94138 (lectotype), a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a mold.
It was synonymized subjectively with Leptoplastides marianus by Tortello and Esteban (2016); it was recombined as Leptoplastides argentinensis by Waisfeld and Vaccari (2003), Monti (2018).
