Muricidea subangulata was named by Stearns (1873). It is extant.

It was recombined as Murex (Ocinebra) subangulatus by Tryon (1880); it was recombined as Tritonalia subangulata by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Ocinebra subangulata by Valentine (1958); it was recombined as Ocenebra subangulata by Kern (1973); it was recombined as Urosalpinx subangulata by Hendy (2021).
