Taxonomy
Chrysodomus rectirostris was named by Carpenter (1864). It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 3515, a shell. It is the type species of Exilioidea.
It was recombined as Tritonofusus (Plicifusus) rectirostris by Dall (1902); it was recombined as Exilia rectirostris by Clark (1931); it was recombined as Exiloidea rectirostris by Bentson (1940); it was recombined as Exilioidea rectirostris by Grant, IV and Gale (1931), Hendy (2021).
