Phyllocladus subintegrifolius was named by Lesquereux (1868). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Thinnfeldia subintegrifolia by Knowlton (1898); it was recombined as Protophyllocladus subintegrifolius by Berry (1903), Knowlton (1919).
