Taxonomy
Stereodictyum was named by Finks (1960) [Sepkoski's age data: C Bash P Leon-l Sepkoski's reference number: 203,236]. It is the type genus of Stereodictyidae.

It was assigned to Reticulosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Stereodictyidae by Finks et al. (2004).
