Pelecanus (Cyrtopelicanus) halieus
Taxonomy
Pelecanus halieus was named by Wetmore (1933). Its type specimen is USNM 12233, a limb element (radius), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hagerman west 1, which is in a Pliocene lacustrine - large horizon in the Hagerman Formation of Idaho.
It was recombined as Pelecanus (Cyrtopelicanus) halieus by Wetmore (1940), Wetmore (1956).
