deeper than in Protosciurus; zygomatic plate triangular, facing
anterolaterally, bounded by distinct anterior and dorsal ridges;
diastema short, very shallow; mental foramen high on side of
jaw; masseteric fossa ending below M,; teeth low crowned; lophs
low on upper molars; conules absent; entoconids and antero-
conids distinct.
