Trigonomyelon was named by Walton (1925). It is not extant. Its type is Dadoxylon pedroi.

It was assigned to Peltaspermales by Andrews (1970); and to Gymnospermae by Lakhanpal et al. (1976), Chandra and Tewari (1991).
