Pilummede penderensis
Taxonomy
Pilummede penderensis was named by Ossó and Clements (2021). Its type specimen is NCSM 12217, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Martin Marietta Rocky Point quarry (base of sequence 3), which is in a Bartonian deep subtidal wackestone in the Castle Hayne Formation of North Carolina. It is the type species of Pilummede.
