Fortisia lanzaeana was named by Visiani (1858). It is extant.

It was recombined as Chrysodium lanzaeana by Gardner and Ettingshausen (1879); it was recombined as Acrostichum lanzaeanum by Chandler (1962), Chandler (1963).
