Clarkeiteuthis conocauda
Taxonomy
Onychoteuthis conocauda was named by Quenstedt (1849). It is not extant. Its type specimen is GPIT/18/36/6. Its type locality is Onychoteuthis conocauda type locality, Paltum subzone, Posidonia, which is in a Toarcian offshore shale in the Posidonia Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Clarkeiteuthis.
It was recombined as Acanthoteuthis conocauda by Quenstedt (1922); it was recombined as Phragmoteuthis conocauda by Riegraf and Reitner (1979), Riegraf et al. (1984), Reitner and Mehl (1989), Urlichs et al. (1994), Riegraf (1996), Reitner (2009) and Fuchs et al. (2013); it was recombined as Clarkeiteuthis conocauda by Fuchs et al. (2013), Fuchs (2019).
It was recombined as Acanthoteuthis conocauda by Quenstedt (1922); it was recombined as Phragmoteuthis conocauda by Riegraf and Reitner (1979), Riegraf et al.
