Taxonomy
Pteroscyllium nolfi was named by Müller and Diedrich (1991). Its type specimen is Nr. 12 494 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ascheloh, which is in a Cenomanian marine limestone in Germany.

A. Müller and C. Diedrich 1991Eine Art der Gattung Pteroscyllium mit folgenden Merkmalen : Zähne mit schlank kegelförmigen Hauptspitzen und einem Paar hoher Nebenspitzen. Auf der Labialfläche der Krone starke, vertikale Schmelzfalten , die bei den lateralen Zähnen bis fast zur Spitze reichen, bei den anterioren kaum bis zur halben Kronenhöhe. Wurzel in der Regel holaulacorhiz, bei manchen Lateralzähnen auch hemiaulacorhiz.
