Taxonomy
Treposciurus was named by Schmidt-Kittler (1970). It is not extant. Its type is Treposciurus mutabilis.

It was assigned to Pseudosciuridae by Hooker (1986); and to Theridomyidae by McKenna and Bell (1997).
