Leweslepas wrightorum was named by Gale (2016). Its type specimen is NHMUK In. 63529 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Compton Bay (Schloenbachia varians zone), which is in a Cenomanian carbonate chalk in the United Kingdom.
