Taxonomy
Stramentum alekseevi was named by Gale (2016). Its type specimen is Moscow State University 270/22 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sample 1732, Zhosaly tract, Mangyshlak, which is in a Turonian carbonate limestone in Kazakhstan.
