Taxonomy
Martillepas decoratus was named by Gale (2019). Its type specimen is NHMUK IC 1357 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Clay Pit, Engelbostel, Hannover, which is in a Hauterivian offshore claystone in Germany.
