Taxonomy
Australaglaspis stonyensis was named by Ortega-Hernandez et al. (2010). Its type specimen is UTGD125519, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is An Idamean aglaspidid from Tasmania - Jago and Baillie 1992, which is in an Idamean submarine fan siltstone in Australia. It is the type species of Australaglaspis.
