Taxonomy
Fitzroyaspis irritans was named by Fortey and Shergold (1984). Its type specimen is CPC 22691, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Locality 158/10, which is in an Arenig shallow subtidal sandstone/siltstone in the Nora Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Eisarkaspis irritans by Jakobsen et al. (2014).
