Taxonomy
Dolichotis minuscula was named by Ameghino (1908). Its type specimen is MACN 10617, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Atlantic cliffs between Mar del Plata and Miramar, which is in a Chapadmalalan terrestrial horizon in the Pampean Formation of Argentina.
It was recombined as Dolicavia minuscula by Ameghino (1916).
