Caestocorbula gujaratensis

Taxonomy
Caestocorbula gujaratensis was named by Halder and Bano (2015). Its type specimen is PG/Cb 134, a shell (Shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Harudi, north 2, which is in a Lutetian marine shale in the Harudi Formation of India.

Bano 2015Large, strongly inequivalved; right valve larger,more convex and more rostrate than left valve; hinge of rightvalve bears a short blunt cardinal tooth, in left valve a nearlyhorizontal chondrophore posterior to cardinal socket; veryshallow pallial sinus; surface of both valves with prominent commarginal ribs—in left valve closer and finer than in right,left valve also bears some blunt faint radial ridges.
