Taxonomy
Orthis (Glyptorthis) transita was named by Reed (1952). Its type specimen is G.S.M 11267, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Desertcreat, Pomeroy Inlier, which is in a Cautleyan coastal sandstone in the Killey Bridge Formation of the United Kingdom.
