Taxonomy
Cardita veneriformis was named by Gabb (1864) [DISTRIBUTION: Paleocene; California.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 4381, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Glans (Centrocardita) veneriformis by Moore (1992); it was recombined as Centrocardita veneriformis by Hendy (2020).
